Who wrote the Bible, and when was it first compiled?

    Well, according to the Apostle Paul "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness..."

    But to answer your question it will take a lot more explaining

    The Torah, or the first 5 books of the Bible, is said to be written by the Prophet Moses.

    Judges, Kings, and Chronicles is said to be written by the Prophet Samuel

    Proverbs is written by King Solomon while Psalms was written by David..

    The Masoretes can be given credit for compiling the Old Testament as we know it. They preserved most of the OT through ancient scrolls written in Hebrew and some in Aramaic.

    • Samuel could not have written Kings or Chronicles. His death is recorded in 1 Samuel 25:1. Events of those books later.
