I have been asked before if I use illict drugs, most blood wagons will do a pre interview that is confidential.. they will even take your blood so yu can save face, then they will not use it.

that is truly wasteful, siphoning off blood they will pour down the crapper... they should just let you keep it and not pump a pint out for nothing. what if they screw up and it gets used... how will anyone be any wiser?

stewie they are legally prohibited from using any blood that is tainted in any way. That means drugs, infections, colds, recent tatoos, etc. How would you like to be in surgery and get a druggy's blood pumped into you?

the situation I witnessed it in was at work, everyone in the office donated. If you have EVER used intrevenous drugs, they will not accept your blood, you also have to wait a few years after being tattooed. SO imagine if you will that you have used heroin and you cant give blood, what do you tell your boss? Soory cant give blood i was a junkie... they PLEAD with you to be honest because they would rather throw away blood than receive tainted blood.

I dont think its patholgical liars.. all blood is tested.. back when arthur ashe and others got aids from tainted blood aids tests were not as accurate and testing blood wasnt strictly enforced.

that blood test at the beginning is to test ur iron levels only, and they dont ask about drugs becuse it would only effect the recipent if the person was high at the time, and u dont have to wait 2 years after a tattoo only untill its healed and ur sure it dint get infected
