For some odd reason, my phone is using auto-finish, or something of that sort. how do i turn it off?

If you mean when you text message, the settings for that would be in Tools or Settings for texting. If it is in looking up names, that is built into many phones. Not sure you can take that out, but it actually speeds things up when searching for a name to dial.
