How do I discourage my 15 year old son from smoking pot? I am very understanding of him and his age and we are very close, but i just can't seem to reach him on this one! (He lies to me and goes and does this with his buddies whenever he gets the chance.)

Well I'm 13. The reason for MY being on this site ? I've tried it already. My brother smokes weed and well, I got curious. Yeah, curiousity killed the cat. But satisfaction brought him back. (; just thought I'd throw that out there. Being high was just a while of non stop stupidity. I felt it hurt my throat and yet, I kept sucking it in. I know a 7th grader that isn't even a virgin anymore and sometimes i catch myself thinking, "whose is worse? Me doing weed or her having sex?" I know hers is worse but I still put a drug into my healthy young body. Try to help your boy see it my way. You're ruining your body and your mind. Yes, you get away from reality and kinda relax but what does it matter? It's gonna end soon enough. Don't take it the wrong way and think "oh, it's gone. Let's go smoke weed again." no, if you want to get high, do it the right way. Go out an play some sports or just go hang out with your friends. If you love the sport youre playing, you'll feel fit & plus, its a healthy kind of high. Hanging out with friends is fun way to pass the time too. I'm never trying weed again. I'm sure once in my life I'll drink tequila or smoke cocaine or some stupid thing. But I'm for the experience. To know what it's like and know it was a one time thing. I'm not gonna get addicted to anything that's fer'sure. Maybe addicted to school would be nice. But I'm not there yet. (;
