Why do we peel the skin off carrots? Is it not edible?

    It's more for looks than anything else.

    • They look cleaner once they've been peeled. The color is uniform, and the are no dirt spots. They grow underground and can get stained.

    • Actually, for me, most nutrients are in the outside part of the carrot, no matter how ugly it look like, what if most nutrients are in there and you just peeled it, then you'll only get the less percent of the nutrients it might have...
