You're reading How is the mass of the Sun determined?

Yes, like Kepler's method...
he said (2Pi)^2 but 4Pi^2 is equal
k= 4Pi^2/(P^2/a^3)
P^2/a^3 is constant and equals 2.98E-19
thus k = 39.48/2.98E-19
k = 1.32714036E20 equals GM or Force of the Sun
now M =k/G...1.32714036E20 /6.6724E-11 = 1.989E30 kg's!!! Before G we solved things this was...
P= 2Pi*SQRT(a^3/4Pi^2/(P^2/a^3))
Now P= 2Pi*SQRT(a^3/GM) as k = GM
