You're reading When do you think the LDS Church will again allow polygamy, as doctrinally the LDS theology states it is essential for our salvation?

"But personally, I recommend you not hold your breath waiting for it to happen."

Who said I was?

And in Mormon theology it's not a case of "if AND when" - it's a case of WHEN as God has already stated it's essential to salvation and he still keeps it in his scriptures. He would need to change those statements if he was changed his mind rather than just discontinuing the practice because of the law.
.
But +2 for your answer.

The nice thing about following God's commandments is that you never have to worry that they might not be in accord with God's will.
.
It is still in the scriptures, and God can suspend the earthly practice of that principle for as long as he likes without invalidating it.

In accord one day and not in accord the next. Not in accord one day and in accord the next. Sounds like that works well to me - who cares what it is your doing, just as long as your following.

The New Testament did away with the old law through Jesus Christ. Scriptures state husband of one wife, cleave to your wife, the wife of your youth, etc. Polygamy is not scriptural... nor was it scriptural then. It was man-made and not something that God agreed with. David was a man after God's own heart, however David had many wives. We all know that David struggle with sin, but God still loved him. If we go into something like that, knowing that God does not ordain it... then we are at fault and guilty of sin.

A lovely but ultimately useless bit of fiction. And wishful thinking.
