    The No Leaf Clover

If you read Anthem by Ayn Rand, you will find that ego is the key to Equality's freedom. As stated by the dictionary-

    Ego:

    1. self-esteem: somebody's idea of his or her own importance or worth, usually of an appropriate level
    2. inflated opinion of self: an exaggerated sense of self-importance and a feeling of superiority to other people
    3. psychoanalysis part of mind containing consciousness: in Freudian psychology, one of three main divisions of the mind, containing consciousness and memory and involved with control, planning, and conforming to reality .
    4. philosophy self: the individual self, as distinct from the outside world and other selves

    and the definition for Evil:

    Evil:
    adj
    1. morally bad: profoundly immoral or wrong

    2. harmful: deliberately causing great harm, pain, or upset

    3. causing misfortune: characterized by, bringing, or signifying bad luck

    4. malicious: characterized by a desire to cause hurt or harm

    5. devilish: connected with the devil or other powerful destructive forces

    6. disagreeable: very unpleasant

I think anyone could make the statement that something is "evil",but it's really the question of how is a person using or portraying something that you would call it"evil"and what you mean by calling it such.So in conclusion, ego is not "evil" because it is the decision of each individual on how to portray it.Ego cannot decide that it is evil, the only thing that can decide is the person who has it.
