You're reading There's this guy I happen to like, and there's my best friend. My friend really likes the guy, but he doesn't like her. I've hooked up with the guy a couple of times, and now my friend has made an ultimatum, it's either him or our friendship. Help!

thanks for that, i think that's what i'm realizing, but up until now she has been such a perfect great friend. i know that she used to be really good friends with the guy, and now she's not over him, but i don't think i should suffer because of her insecurities.. i don't know what to do

Your welcome.Have you told her that you don't know what to do and explained what you've just said? You can look at in a few different ways. How much do you really value your friendship with her?How much did you value it at the time, knowing that she wasn't over the guy?So looking at it at with her view,if she wasn't in fact over him,and you, knowing this, hooked up with him a couple times, than I could understand how she might be upset.Does that make her giving you an ultimatum right? No,but I think you both need to discuss this and you both need to be truthful about your feelings. If she simply won't listen to you, then take a break from her and the guy.I think everyone needs time to cool off and really think.Tell her that you are going to take some time for yourself to reflect on things and then allow her to once again explain her feelings and then you do the same.Think about who's been in your life longer and who is likely to be there in the future.Overall,It's a tricky situation.Good luck.
