Hi norm, Im 23 years old and i lost me left testicle just before my marriage, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Now after having a child (1 year later) i'm feeling my right testicle to be in the same situation. it hurts and i'll go to the doctor on monday. The most probable thing will be to cut it off as well. So i made up my mind being a serious issue about "manliness" and testosterone, I wanted to communicate with you about this issues I may confront. I've read about your posts and others at google. some say pitch voice, man boobs, no sexual desire but i want to hear from you. What is it like when you enter, i mean this testicle less life, was it any difference with the testosterone treatment, hows without it, i'll probably get a second implant but that's not what i care about reading all these comments about mentally depressed and all that stuff. I'm a person who enjoys life no matter what and plan for outdoors boating, shooting, etc. will i lose some kind of interest? will my wife notice a big change or impact in the relationship? these are my concerns and i need some help from your experiences, thanks!

    • There's a lot of myths about us, and they are not true. Your voice will not change, and none of the other things will either. You'll likely be on replacement hormone, and will not lose sexual desire. You'll still have all the manly interests you have now.

When I lost mine in 1985, there was very little information available. I did have hot flashes till I got the replacement testoserone worked out. I did not have any trouble adjusting to them being gone. They had caused a great deal of pain. Having them removed gave me a better quality of life than I had with them.

Keep me posted on how things go.

    • Kandorot,

Please feel free to email me.

I can offer you more information than I'm willing to post in public, but being castrated ain't no 'big fat hairy deal'.
If you lose your remaining testicle I will empathize rather than sympathize. I've been without mine since 1985, and thanks to HRT I am still a man.

    • I'm here to help if you need that. If it happened that way there is nothing to be ashamed of. I've been that way since 1985.
