You're reading When learning US History in school, why is the fact that Irish immigrants were treated worse than black slaves left out?
Comments
I was referring statements in the article. The Irish came here because they were STARVING to death, they had no choice. And correct, nobody owned them, hence, they were given jobs that were too dangerous for black slaves.

You and I will have to agree to disagree. The Irish immigrants had a choice....yes, they were starving, yes, it was a difficult choice...and many chose not to emigrate.....the blacks were brutally kidnapped and beaten and chained and torn from the families....and many were killed. And that's all before they even were thrown into the bowels of a schooner to spend weeks without air and proper nutrition to come to a land where they were SOLD. And I have no idea how you figure the Irish were given jobs too dangerous for black slaves.....sorry but you are misinformed.

Oh, by the way....I am not black. I am Irish. I did my history homework.
