Why does British televised news insist on translating orally the statements of foreign speakers (over the top of their original statement), rather than the much less intrusive, and much more educational, subtitled option?

    I guess most Britains are just as mentally lazy as most of us Americans are.

    • Yeah probably. I tried to attach a video demonstrating this tendency when I posted the question, but it doesn't appear... Damn.
