No...if you kill yourself they will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law..and don't you forget it!

    • please leave the silly shit out of this...This is a serious concern for millions if not billions of people.

    • What I am saying now is not silly shit and neither was my post. This is not a serious concern for millions and certainly not billions of people. The question is non sense, as a person who is suicidal does not worry about their "right" to kill themselves and in additional suicidal people are often homicidal highlighting their lack of concern for such triviality.

    • Research and statistics will tell you otherwise.

I remember worried about what would happen if I failed. If I'd be locked up, or sent away, or what...Maybe I'm just a special case, but I don't think everybody who attempts suicide is not completely aware of the fact that there is a chance they will survive the attempt.

And so the question this person asked is legitimate and should be looked upon. It makes perfect sense.

And on a personal note, Suicidal people are NOT often homicidal. If you're referring to an example like the Virginia Tech shooting, that guy was mentally incapable of ANYTHING. God knows what was wrong with him.

I tried to kill myself because I thought I couldn't help OTHER PEOPLE. Now I realize I can and I'm on my way to doing that.

      THAT IS NOT NONSENSE.

    • Just a note..I was taught by a professional when I entered law enforcement for 25 years that suicidal persons are often homicidal (and my experience backed that up) and that is not hard to prove with statistics on murder suicide events but....it is not important to me and it seems to be for you so have it your way and have a nice day!

    • And I can promise you that whatever statistics you are talking about, the rate of suicides and attempted suicides are much much higher. Exponentially higher. And YES, depression/bipolar/ADHD disorders DO affect millions, if not BILLIONS of people. That is why its the 3rd leading public safety concern.

The world changes all the time, every month, every year, ever decade. Times are changing. More suicides than ever. The facts that you got from training and your education may not hold true anymore.

Catch up on your research and Godspeed.

    • Here ya go buddy- http://www.cdc.gov/MMWR/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5625a5.htm

and that is from 2002-2004. Imagine what it is now, after 5 years.

And those are just successful suicides-we now know that the number of suicide attempts multiplies exponentially, and the number of suicidal THOUGHTS multiply exponentially from ATTEMPTS.

It is currently the 8th leading cause of death.

I am not sure if homicides are above 8th but I seriously doubt it because of what this information and statistics imply.
