Are there any physical traits that are known to have evolved in man during historical times?

    'man' used to have a tail for balance. Also our stomachs are relatively new in terms of the historical development of man and therefore things like milk and grasses can be hard to digest for humans as we have less ability to break down such substances.

    Dawinism would suggest that the development of man will only improve via survival of the fittest, therefore should you accept Dawin's theory you could say that there are no traits, only improvements.

    • "improvement" is relative -- our ears are getting better at protecting us from noise -- it means we can't hear as well as we used to.

    • I would not classify these as "known" but "assumed" evolutions. We have not observed, but assumed/deduced them. Tail surely would be prehistoric not historic.

    • Technically, "historical" means "since the invention of writing." So the short & easy answer is "No." (Variations in height, weight, skin color, and so forth are not evolution, just variation within a species.)
