In your opinion, who was the greatest military leader and why?

    Although there are many great candidates, I have always been impressed by "The Desert Fox" Erwin Rommel who was a German Field Marshall during World War II and is regarded as being perhaps the best tank commander ever. I think he is a great example of a master strategist who showed respect to his foes as well as earning it from them. I like to think that before his death he understood and rejected the malice of Hitler.
