Because liberalism became completely bankrupt in just 10 short months - fiscally economically environmentally diplomatically and so on - and hence also became bankrupt politically.
NJ and VA are so much different, yet in both states liberalism uniformly lost 20 to 25 points of support. We are looking towards landslides in 2010 and in 2012.
