My boyfriend has a bone in the back of his head. You can't see it just feel it. He says he has had it all his life and the doctor says it's normal. Does anybody know what this bone is called and why it's there?

Are you sure it's a seperate bone, or is it a horizontal ridge on the back of his head(part of the skull), level with his eyes, if its the latter, then it's perfectly normal, if it's a real bone he should get a second opinion from a doctor.

    • i dont know it almost feels like i have a spine at the top of my head and cant see it, its just from my skull fusing together,
when you are born your skull is in different parts thats why you have to be carefull babys are delicate i dont remember when its supposed to fuse but i think hes normal
