Wireless runs at 54mbps and at 2.4GHz. It's possible that you have interference with your signal. If the laptop is on and being used, it can be weaken the signal/data transfer to your PS3 connection. Many cordless phones and a microwave also run at 2.4GHZ. This is another possibility. Try turning these off. You can try changing the channel of the PS3 to run at 5.0GHz. You can also try to move the router closer to where you play your PS3.

    • Thanks for the answer. I don't think it's interference, now having had a play around yesterday (system updates, connection checks etc)I'm fairly sure it's your last option of moving the router.
Obviously they're not as sensitive as I thought.
The PS3 and router were about as far away from each other in the house as possible, hopefully that will sort it.

I'm sure when my lad gets on the new Modern Warfare tomorrow he'll let me know if its still cutting off :)
