The Bible can be a book of helpful and useful information, dealing with things and people in everyday life. There is nothing new, people have the same attitudes as they did 3,000 yrs ago. People and places in the Bible have proven to be factual. Rome, Greece, Egypt etc., existed. People in the Bible were proven to exist in external written sources. There are people that try to live the Bible word for word. Christ talked about that in the New Testament. It wasn't what the Bible was about. There are people who don't like certain things in the Bible and try to change them to fit their life-style or needs. Christ spoke out against that as well. The Bible is about our relationship with God and Christ. Not, I know they are out there, but rather that they are in here, my heart, my soul, and my mind. Only then can you see the true purpose of the Bible. It won't be a book of words that don't make any sense. It will not be a book of wise sayings, or a book for day to day life. It will be a living book, a book of life.
