First of all they did not do the same thing at all. One was a small error similar to the errors in reporting many Americans make every tax season. When the error was discovered it was resolved. The other involved an on-going intent to deceive, hiding assets, false filings and perjury.

Intent is the key difference here.

Your assertion that they "did the same thing" is a simple broad accusation that does not adequately address the vastly different situations these men find themselves in.

    • You are going to tell me that Geitner did not know that he had to pay taxes on that money?! Bumpkiss! Lying is lying, and tax evasion is tax evasion, but I guess it is ok, because Geitner is a liberal.

    • Piss off...I am a conservative who is not a reactionary ass.
There is a huge difference in these two cases, namely intent. An investment or similar account that is not properly taxed or reported while the tax payer is paying their taxes regularly is a lie of omission at worst with no attempt to conceal, deceive or defraud. Kerick case is vastly different. Substantial evidence exists that shows an on-going attempt to defraud and conceal. Additionally evidence exists that he perjure himself.
I suppose for some people over simplification, idiocy, finger pointing and name calling is their standard mode. Simple solutions for simple minds.

    • Only a socialist would call someone a reactionary. The difference is one works for the liberals, one worked for a moderate Republican. Geitner's fault wasn't an investment, it was on money paid for services. I never said that Kerick wasn't a dirtbag. There is duality here, the transgressions of liberals who are played down, those of conservatives are played up. You can call yourself conservative all you want, but if it smells like a duck, acts like a duck, and constantly comes to the defense of other ducks, then it's a duck...you are a liberal who is lying to herself.

    • I know your type, and you are not what you say you are. You are the kind who registers as a Republican so that you can say that you voted for Obama as a Republican. In short, you are the ass that you accuse me of being.

    • You missed with your insults. It is fucking liberal scum like your sorry ass who have ruined the Republican Party, that and the fact that they refuse to point out the fact that the Democrats fight dirty and get away with it because the media rarely calls them on it.

    • If you're a conservative then why do you reference liberal business haters when they make your BP point for you?

How do I choose who to reference? Umm I read a good deal of news from a variety of sources. It is what it is. Next time just for you maybe I will quote some republicans haha

Thanks by the way for drawing my attention back to this thread if for no other reason than it allows me to tell jackpipe30 to piss off.
