There must be more to this than just reading the WSJ. One week, 5 days is much too severe for just that.
However if it is as you say then I would be protesting this to the absolute highest levels. Assuming you're not in college but in the public school system and this is what you were suspended for I would document my protest (write out why you disagree) and begin with the teacher, work my way up each level of authority all the way to the school board if need be. Don't get mad, present your case in the third person. If you loose you loose but you're going to receive quite an education in the process. You'll find the butterflies in your stomach turning into knots.
How can I answer this 5th grader who asked me, "If Jesus was cremated, how could he have resurrected on the 3rd day?"

You're reading Was it fair to suspend me for one week? --- Our English literature teacher caught me reading The Wall Street Journal, whereas I was supposed to copy "The dreams of my father" pp. 123-128 into my notebook.
