Taking the previous answer in to account (he is right on the money with it) Don't forget to look at a back up solution for important documents. Hard drives crash all the times for various reasons...I would mark this one down as really lucky!
What portable HDD would you recommend? I need 500+ Gb. May be some of you already had a few of them and can compare.

You're reading I have a Dell Vostro 1500. I dropped it harder than usual, and the next time I turned it on the OS wouldn't load. Hard drive crash. I reinstalled everything, it finally took. Questions...will the hard drive crash again? Should I get it looked at by a pro?

Agreed... a backup system is worth many hard drives :)
