The first thing you have to do is clearly define what you want to reform. I don’t think there is any real opposition to reforming healthcare. However, there is much opposition in the government taking over insurance and redistributing wealth.
Healthcare is a commodity that we all use in different ways. Insurance is a different commodity that allows people to spread risk. The current “healthcare reform” debate has little to do with reforming healthcare, and everything to do with turning insurance (i.e. allocation of risk) into a redistribution of wealth (i.e. reallocation of money).
If your complaint is that healthcare is too inefficient, then we should implement policies that allow it to increase efficiency. However, this is only a small part of the current debate. The main complaint is that healthcare is just expensive. This is true, just as a Mazzarati is expensive, but that does not mean the government should take money from some in order to buy a Mazzarati for others.

My thoughts exactly, I wish people would wake up to the fact that this has nothing to do with health care but it has a lot to do with retaining power in Washington.+5
