Hey Vaporeongirl, how old are you? I think you're young, as a matter of fact I think you're my age. But listen here friend, I read your bio and have seen your thoughts on this topic and I really think you need to talk with someone. Someone wise and experienced to give you guidance. It sounds like your upbringing and past have given you an unhealthy perspective on some very important things in life.

    • I'm 19, Nick, and I'm NOT CRAZY. I accept 100% responsability for the Baptist cult I got myself into because i was 17 and fell into it by myself. However, my mom tortured me for 8 years in the Catholic cult and my father did nothing about it. I saw women commit SUICIDE by childbirth....really I mean it. My brother is still a devout catholic and has decided to remain an unmarried virgin for his entire life because he has a good heart and does not want to marry a woman and have to murder her by making her have a bunch of babies. I'm actually NOT crazy, just been dragged through the mud a lot and was told for years that if it was not my desire to suicide by childbirth, then I was an evil and selfish woman.

    • I don't want to go to counseling so I can like babies. I don't really feel the need for motherhood in my life. Even if I could stop being so disgusted and appalled by the whole thing, I really wouldn't want to be interested in the whole process, sorry. I'm so sick and tired of MALE strangers telling me how to run my life. Babies are just NOT interesting to me....period; and it's not your business to tell me what to do with my body or how to run my life.

    • I'm 19 as well Vaporeongirl. I never said you were crazy and I don't think you're crazy. You don't have to "take responsibility" for whatever happened to you during your experiences is in these churches. If they didn't treat you right that is their fault, not yours.
I agree 100% that the Catholic Church has a bizarre policy on sexuality and birth control. Getting pregnant is something that is to be done on the woman's terms, NOT because her husband is horny. Pregnancy is a BIG thing, but it's not a disgusting or bad thing.
Babies are not for every woman, you might not ever want to have babies and that's fine. But don't say that childbirth and pregnancy is disgusting. Many people really want that more than anything in the world. My girlfriend is obsessed with babies, they are her passion in life and she totally wants to get pregnant and have one. When a woman is prepared and ready this is a very beautiful thing, don't think it's disgusting or bad.

    • Oh, gee, thanks for clarifying. I like you better now. I'm glad to know you weren't trying to force me to want babies or change my personality. And, to clarify on my end, I'm not blaming myself for other people's abusive behavior toward me, I was taking responsability for landing myself in the cult situation the 2nd time. I knew something was wrong long before I left. That is what I am at fault for. However, my mother and father were the abusive 1s who dragged me into the 1st cult. I am a victim all the way in the Catholic situation.

    • Nick this is my favorite thing I've read from you! I think you'd disagree w/ me on one point & that is that I am pro-choice but I do not think that anyone should look @ babies as unaborted fetuses. Pregnancy & children aren't for everyone & I accept that completely, but when I read posts from the OP it seems like in her opinion abortions & sterilization should be the ONLY option for people.

    • Vaporeongirl... hang in there, you are NOT crazy, You seem like you have always tried to think for yourself. That is the best way. Jesus talks about that also I believe;.. those who just superficially accept something will soon lose it... you know? the passage about the seed and the kind of ground in which it is planted... I am a gay woman, and at some point I thought I was crazy too. We each have to find our OWN way, not necessarily that of any cult of particular belief system dictated by parents and society. Religion is not something you should inherit. When you figure out who YOU are, then you will see what belief system fits you. Just ask help for guidance from God.. and only mind him for right now... Good luck my young friend. Remember you AB friends are always here for you!

    • I agree with Ray Del Sol but not DaniMac really, Plus i read bio (It made me shed a tear) and im an athiest btw (my wife is christian) and that cult your mother dragged you into speak a load of sh**, child birth is a beutifull process and we human exist to furfill and find our purpose in life and find love, ect ect...., you dont need to be furfilled by empty promises churches and cults babble on about, you make your own desisions in life, god is only there as an embodyment of hope for thoes who need somehting to beleive in, i myself have a religeous theory even tho im an athiest that i beleive that God IS the earth and that we are ALL his children, living inside the planet like its a a mother womb, he cares for us all by providing nature and the resources we need to survive, as they say GOD is all knowing, all seing, all powerfull, and all loving, Hang in there and avoid these so called cults, There not giving you the bibles teachings, i myself may consider Christianity somday....

    • I'm OK with everything you said as long as you are not trying to say I am obligated to want to have children because it is part of life. If you're not saying that, thanks for the advice!

      Vaporeongirl

by Vaporeongirl on November 4th, 2009

    • Having children IS a part of life, but everything dosnt have to be obligated to you, having a baby is the Ultimate desision a couple make that will change there lives, seing babies as unabrorted featus's is a way of saying they dont deserve to be born somday, personally find it insulting wene you call it an obligation (thoes cultists of your make me sick btw), having children is a choice people make in the course of there lives, to life there is no olbigations just choices...remember that

    • Oh, the baptist cult ( the 2nd 1 ) really had very little emphasis on the importance of reproduction. They were all about control, power, blackmail an money. The Catholics ( the 1st cult ) were the 1s who made a HUGE effort to force me and all the other girls to think of ourselves as baby machines. They did this through bible and catechism study, guilt, constantly talking against abortion and contraception during mass, twisted logic, demeaning women's self esteem and fear of hell.

by Vaporeongirl on November 4th, 2009

    • Cults these days are less about the religeon and more about power, the crap they talk aobut definatly isnt in the Bible...right

      The Last Remnant

by The Last Remnant on November 4th, 2009

    • I fully believe that birth control is absolutely necessary to a healthy marriage. The Catholic Church is very corrupt and you should not listen to them on this matter. There is nothing in the Bible that says birth control is wrong. Read Hebrews 13:4. I agree that it is absolutely appalling to expect women to get pregnant whenever their husband needs sexual release.

    • Thank you for your kindness; though I gave up the "I'm just a baby machine" belief a LONG time ago, remnants of it stayed with me. But don't pity me too much because I have gotten over 99% of the abuse and am in general a happy and free person.

      The Last Remnant

by The Last Remnant on November 4th, 2009

    • What we WERE TOLD was that the greatest thing a woman could do for herself, her husband, Roman Catholic Church,God and the world was to commit suicide by childbearing. In other words to just keeping popping those babies until something went so wrong in your body, that it destroyed you. I SAW WOMEN DO IT. I KNEW a woman personally who intentionally commited suicide by having 11 babies in 14 years. The doctor told her to stop after baby 10, but the priest insisted it was her mission from and for God to get pregnant again and kill herself in order to bring another baby into the world. Is that gross or what? Also, my mom was told the same thing by the doctors after me ( I was number 2; my mom has a weak body ). Thankfully, she was protestant when I was born and tied her tubes. Later on she told me she regretted shutting God out from making new lives through her.

    • The Catholic Church is really crazy when it comes to reproduction (and many other things for that matter.) It's one of the reasons I am no longer Catholic. A lifetime of impregnating your wife just to have a normal sexual relationship with her does not sound appealing to me. I mean I have things I want to do besides reproducing, I want to be able to have a healthy God-sanctioned sex life without babies hanging over my head. 11 babies in 14 years... wow. My one teacher when I was in high school was Catholic and had I believe somewhere in the range of 7-9 kids, and the last one died shortly after being born. That's what happens with this stuff.

      Vaporeongirl

by Vaporeongirl on November 4th, 2009

    • I never said I didn't believe you. That was "Last Remnant" putting words in my mouth. I would say 99% of men do not want to get their wife pregnant constantly. It's usually the women that want to get pregnant. The girl that I plan on marrying wants to get pregnant as soon as she's able, I have my doubts.

    • i never sed i doubted you, but the catholics have some F***d up ways of living, 11 babies in 14 years, Wow that's like signing your own deathwish, it makes me feel sick thinking about it, its compeltely appauling, it makes god sound like a pig (but i still beleive in theroy that god IS the planet itself). Sex alos shoudnt be down to god, sex is a sign of a healthy Marriage, having sex for having babies for gods sake is like having sex wiht god not ur wife/Partner..its...something i can bear to describe

      The Last Remnant

    • We aren't having any kids for at least a few years, when we're both stable. We do believe in birth control, you can be Christian and use birth control. She'll release her baby energy through other outlets in the meantime, she can wait a few years.
