When a 51 year old shacks up with a 16 year old, are you less likely to have him arrested for statutory rape if he was a star of "Lost?"

Wrong answer private!

No... It's not. If her parents ok it, they can go out together. However any sex between them is illegal.

wrong answer private

You know, there is a whole lot here that might send up warning signals...certainly I would be extremely leary and would discourage any such thing because I think there is a whole level of differences between a 15 year old and a 19 year old on so many different issues.
.
However, DATING is not SEX, contrary to popular belief. And though I am not one who would be likely to agree to such a situation myself, there is nothing illegal about DATING between two people of this age. The laws apply to sexual activities, not dating.
.
I have to agree with you, BigDaddyBS. I do not think it's wise for two people of these ages to date, but your answer is 100% correct.
by The Chief on November 4th, 2009
Wrong answer because you open up a whole can of worms when you date a 15 year old girl. He should find someone his own age...
so as I originally wrote, WRONG ANSWER private.
by Orangepowder on November 4th, 2009
I find it funny how you accept others who answered pretty much the same as I, but didn't accept THIS one. ...
.
Oh, and The Chief is NOT going to like you calling him "private"!
by BigDaddyBS on November 4th, 2009
My comment adequately addressed the issues with the age difference, Orangepowder. My PERSONAL opinion, as stated above, is "I do not think it's wise for two people of these ages to date..." and "I am not one who would be likely to agree to such a situation myself..."
.
The question asked if it is WRONG. The answer is "NO". It is, however, unwise. I agree that at the age of 15, dating a 19 year old is not recommended at all.
.
However, there is a whole bevy of additional circumstances and details which go into making an absolute determination in a specific situation. But what it ultimately boils down to is what these two individuals DO on their dates that will determine if, and when, they cross the line.
.
So your comment of "WRONG ANSWER" is as incorrect as your addressing me as "private".

LOL.I understand that you do not necessarily support this type of relationship. I was simply advising this person against it because a 15 year old is not in a position to have a mature relationship and neither is a 19 year old, and certainly not a 19 year old with a 15 year old. Today, most people don't know the meaning of dating without having sex, so this particular situation has problems written all over it. In most of the other questions I have answered, the person is already in the relationship. I still stand by my statement; "wrong answer private".
Wrong answer private is just an expression used in the military.
I never really make excuses for an answer, however, I apologize for offending you.
by Orangepowder on November 5th, 2009
I understand about the "can of worms". AND, I understand about neither being in a position to have a mature relationship.
.
BUT, LEGALLY, there's nothing wrong with a DATE that does not include sex, which I put in my ANSWER. YOU didn't answer, here, I did. You just said "wrong answer private".
.
Wrong answer, OP. Yes, I know that "Date" means sex for a lot of kids/people these days. That's why I qualified my answer as I did. "Can of worms" SHOULD be taken care of by HER parents, which I why I qualifed THAT answer.
.
IF I had simply stated, "Date: No, Sex: Yes" then you MAY have been able to say what you said. But the qualifications make it correct.
.
BTW: You are assuming that the questioner is either the 19yo or 15yo. Did you ever stop to consider that the questioner COULD be a parent asking?
.
Oh, and BTW: check it out on here. THIS was a benign question. There are plenty of 13-16yos talking about having sex and getting pregnant with BFs of their own age.
.
I stand by my answer.
