Nobody will go to hell when they die, even if they do not believe in God.Anybody who beleives that a loving God would send people to hell is living in cloud cuckoo land.
Why do people believe that if God exists, then he has to be good instead of evil? Or why can't be be both? Or maybe Satan is the good one?

A loving God does seem incompatible with conscious torture for eternity. I wouldn't want to say they are living in cuckoo land though. There are many sincere people that believe that. There preachers make a good living at telling them that so they are misled. http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/7280403
