GREAT answer. And, a good reminder that if one is going to take charge of an animal's diet, you should do it with professional guidance!
When we had to switch our dog to a homemade recipe, we did it with the help of 2 vets and several consultations with the Vet Food department at UC Davis.
And a great reminder to check out the ingredients in your pet's food. We should all do the same for the prepared food we buy for ourselves!
