I dont think it would make a huge difference because many of the big guns in rugby today have great players from their own country, however if this did happen,it would mainly be the samoans and fijians who would lift their world ranking, but I dont think they would dominate.New zealands world ranking would fall because 3/4 of the team are pacific islanders, the english, french, aussies and south africans would'nt be affected as much as the All blacks.

    • The Australians will have a problem. Lote Tuqiri, Wyclef Palu, Rodney Blake, Morgan Turinui & many other's are of other cultural backgrounds. Not one Aboriginal in the team. So technically Australia would suffer the most. England are starting to do the same, they have a Fijian flyer in there 7's team.

    • Australia would suffer, because Technically the white man comes from Europe. So Australia would have all it's Native's playing. And do you know of that many Natives? NZ would be ok, it would be their NZ Maori team. And additional players such as Rico Gear, Dan Carter & Doug Howlett. The fijians would only be producing the awesome backs. As for forwards, there hasen't been a Fijian forward to ever play for the All Blacks or the Wallabies except for that Samo guy. So I think it would be a tight one between France, Samoa & South Africa.

    • yes but, moari's originally came from the cook islands and the whites in NZ(like you said)came from europe.so if every player were to play from their cultural backgrounds rather than than where they live,NZ wouldnt have any players to play for them at all, while australia would still have the indigineous people to play for them,So,NZ would suffer the most.

    • So then who are the Natives of NZ? No one would be playing! NZ would'nt have a team! the sheep will be playing on their behalf, lol

    • So if NZ does'nt have any Natives then technically we're all from one place, then you would have to question where did the Fijians come from originally? and the Samoans? and so on and so on, lol

    • yeah,I thought about that and did some research,Fijians were thought to have first come from some where in africa, from fiji some sailed to samoa, from samoa some went to tonga and they spread all around the south pacific.

    • whats the difference?

    • The difference is if this were to happen, the NZ & Australia would fail misrebly in the game of Rugby & also in the League! as nearly half of their team is polynesian or of Kiwi decent.

    • yes,I agree with you 100%.But rugby league too!?.but I still think NZ would suffer more because Neemia Tialata,Chris Masoe,Jerry Collins,Rodney So'oiala,John Afoa,Ma'a Nonu,Kevin Mealamu,Malili Mulaina,Rico Gear,Joesefa Rokocoko,Sitiveni Sivivatu and Piri Weepu would all leave the All blacks and only Tai Mclsaac,Wycliff Palu,Lote Tuqiri,Mark Gerrad and Jone Tawake would leave the wallabies. So NZ would loose 2 good players and 10 excellent players which makes a total of 12 players missing while the wallabies would only loose 2 good players and 3 great players making a total of only 5 players gone.Which puts Australia in a better position than NZ if players did play for ther cultural background.

    • Don't forget Turinui (Maori), Blake (Tongan), Samo (Fijian), Rathbone (South African), Gerrard (Tongan), Jeremy Paul (Maori) and then the majority of them would be of European decent.

    • OH!,J.Pauls a Maori!!!!I already mentioned Gerrard! and Morgan Turinui,Blake,Samo and rathbone arent wallabies. So that would mean only Paul would be lost.Making a total of six players gone from the wallabies, double that and you get the amount of players lost from NZ.
