I live where it gets really cold in the winter, my dogs are small, and they stay in the garage alot when I am gone. it is warmer in the garage then it is outside, but it still gets cold, so I have been thinking of using an old ref. that I was going to throw away as an indoor dog house. i was going to do this by cutting a hole in the side of the ref. to use as a dog door, and laying it on its back, so that I have an indoor dog house. yes it is really trashy sounding, but I figured it is a large, insulated, plastic lined, steel box. I may also put a warming light in it, but not sure about the safety issues etc.. also considering whether to drain the system etc... well it is an idea? i am going to throw it away anyway in the spring, unless it works really well then I will clean and keep it. it will save a lot of wood that I was going to use to make a dog house, and it way better insulated then the dog house I was going to make?

You're reading Any good uses for an old refrigerator that will otherwise be sent off to a recycling place or whatnot? I really would like to find some DIY uses for the components of one. I have two that Were getting rid of.
