Help answer this question below.
My cat taught me that some creatures
cannot be chased and forced to like
You. Even if You catch them and are
nice to them, they will be unsatisfied
and try to run away. Some creatures
need to be completely ignored
(sometimes for long periods of time)
and for You not to pay any attention
to them and then they will come by
themselves. Then You still need to
push them away and ignore quite
often, even if they are fighting
for Your attention.

This way the creature will be the
most eager to hugging and begging
for petting. :)
.
Besides cats, there's another
creature that it quite often
works on. ;)
