... since laws vary world wide, it will depend on what part of the planet she is at ... here in Canada, she could move to a temporary battered women shelter, get restraining orders against who ever was hitting her, then apply for welfare, possibly some sort of child support from the father, (or get a home based job of some sort) and then find an apartment either on her own or with room mates ...
