ACK! All kinds of problems, since cortisone is an artificial hormone/steriod. It can cause sexual side effects including facial hair on girls and breast growth in boys. Weight gain, bone thinning, diabetes, acne, cataracts, and immune system damage are among the many possible side effects. I would advise avoiding it completely in children unless there's a life-endangering condition requiring cortico-steroids and there's no alternative therapy. Using hydro-cortisone creams to treat childhood rashes is so dangerous it should be called child abuse.
