I am prescribed adderall for ADHD, or basically to help me focus on one thing rather than having scattered thoughts. The literal name for adderall is amphetamine salt, which is to say, speed. How speed helps me concentrate is beyond me but it works. As far as being safe, as long as your doctor thinks so. It is addictive and speeds up your heart rate. This is why college kids abuse it because it keeps you up and gives you a feeling similar to cocaine. Athletes abuse it for extending their workouts and improving their focus. The first time I took it I felt like I could write a book while running a marathon. I'm not a doctor but I imagine anything with amphetamine in it's name is not safe if abused. Hope I helped.
