If you were allowed to change the spelling of a word in the dictionary, what word, or words what you change?

    I'll take the "u" out of every word that starts witha "q". I don't see what purpose it has since all words that start with a "q" follows with a "u". (If it looks too weird I'll put it back. ;)

    • ..actually, I think the pronunciation of Q without the "U" is a hard "C" or "K" as in "Iraq". Adding the "U" gives it that transitioning verb sound like "w".

    • qi has no U its in the dictionary. use it in scrabble all the time.

    • yhvhash: Mmmm...."Quay" and "key" are pronounced the same. Do you know any words that are pronounced differently because of the "u"?
