I'm thinking of joining the marines after high school but people say I'm going to come back an douche bag if I come back is that true?

You'll only come back a douche bag if you're already one. I have a bunch of family that went through the Marines, they're all nice, well adjusted people with decent jobs [EMT, programmer, one's still in service.]

Do your homework, make you decision for yourself, not your friends.
