What is the longest you have ever been in the hospital for? What happened?

When I was 10 I had a bad fall from my pony and was in hospital for 6 weeks. I fractured my skull, lost an eye, went deaf in one ear and frankly, wasn't expected to live. (Mind you, that was in 1958, and hey, I'm still here!).
