Think about it. The diaphram is just above the Paritaneal cavity(where all the vital organs are). The diaphram(makes your lungs get big and small) likes to get bigger and smaller so that you can breath. If for many reasons, the paratanium is restricted you canmnot breath as well as you might on a empty stomach.
