Yes it is a sport!
In a few of these answers some people say that it is just entertainment? and a sport requires competition. Well you can check that off. Because chearleading is a competitive sport! We lift people in the air for crying out loud! we tumble, dance, jump, all of that. And there are NATIONAL competitions. We sweat, work hard in support of our football and basketball teams. but when those seasons are over, its our turn to compete as well. so i must say that it is very much a sport.
Why don't people consider Cheerleading a sport?

i am 5'7'' and am115 lbs, am i too tall to be a flyer in cheerleading? would i be a base or a back spot?
