Depends on the kind of duck. Domestic ducks eat grass and grains and small insects they catch. I love seeing baby ducks running around jumping for moths and flies. They are great flycatchers! Muscovies, at least the males will gladly eat the young ducklings in one gulp. It happened to our ducks. Just awful! In the wild they can eat the same as the domestic ones unless they are fisheating ducks. The 'tree ducks' and the 'surf ducks' eat fish, frogs, all sorts of things, plus eating some vegetation.
