You're reading American here. In Torchwood they speak of distances in miles. Is this a Welsh thing or do many Brits says miles instead of km's? And do any Brits talk about their height/weight in feet/pounds?

we're taught metric in school too but it never goes anywhere! except for the litre bottle
and people will often use centimetres to describe something that's closer to an even # of cm than inches.
