Why are most racing cars manual instead of automatic?

automatic cars don't know when the best time to upshift or downshift for conditions is. YOu do if you are on the track. More control, you can downshift to reduce speed, saving breaks, hold till redline upshifting. Also, automatics are evil and must be destroyed :P
