If she wants to bf exclusively then i'd advice against giving formula.
Breast milk is produced by supply and demand. So if you top up with formula then she will stop producing milk.
As for the hiccups it could just be a little bit of nipple confusion (between breast/bottle) and is gulping too fast on the bottle because milk is harder to extract from the breast if that makes sense.
How much will my breasts grow after pregnancy and weaning? Do they revert after milk production ceases?

You're reading I just became a father of a son, he is 5 days old, the problem is that he is not taking mothers feed, we are giving him formula milk, plus whenever he drinks milk, after each feed, he has hick ups.... is it normal, please also guide through how do we feed
