Help answer this question below.

I just want to know how emotionally crippling is it after having an abortion..im having one soon and i want to prepare myself

    if you're thinking it will be crippling, dont do it. You have no need to please any one else. You, your integrity and your pride is all that counts. Do what will make YOU happy.
    You'll be relieved at first, and wait to "get over it" but you never do. In 20 years you'll look at all your accomplishments and failures, and that will be a big black spot that you will not be proud of. You'll know you wouldn't be who you are with out having done it..but you think, maybe it wouldn't have been soooo difficult to raise a kid.
    THere is no right or wrong, only questions. Sorry, hope I didn't make it worse.
    You know whats right for you, but again, for you, no one else.
    I'm 7 weeks pregnant and honestly, it doesn't feel like a baby to me, just something that makes me throw up. If I misscarried, I would just try again. To me it's not really a baby yet...

    • I have gotten over it just fine. "that will be a big black spot that you will not be proud of." Only if it is something that you strongly believe was ethically wrong. I'm now 13 years later, and I'd do it all over again in a New York minute. Yes, it is individual, and no one should do anything they aren't comfortable with, but please give the preditions of everlasting guilt a rest. the rest of what you say, I agree with.

    • Great for you that you have gotton over it so quickly. Not everyone does. She asked for opinions, that is mine.
      I'm glad she got many opinions and answers to help her sort things out. THats all she needed.

    • Yes, not everyone does. However, you didn't exactly state that. You made it sound like everyone has this ongoing guilt. I don't personally know anyone who does. Whether or not everyone feels that isn't an opinion, it is a statement of fact that can be proven or disproven. And it is false.

    • depends on your personality, you're not a sympathetic person or you wouldn't be giving me a slap down after expressing such a personal issue. As I said, she got lotas of opinions and they dont all need your approval.
