Question

Help answer this question below.

Why do cruise lines demand full price be paid for an infant that won't eat the ship's food, is too young for the childrens' program, and isn't even allowed in the ship's pool, then try to tell me what a great deal the cruise is?

Hmm, I'd say they aren't very customer service oriented, then.

From your question, it sounds like more than one cruise line charges these prices, which surprises me. I was originally going to suggest that you shop around.

    • Yep, three cruise lines so far, and all of them charge full adult price for all passengers, even an 18 month old infant (how old my son will be when we want to go). I think we'll be choosing something other than a cruise for my hubby's 40th.

    • I'm thinking the Disney cruises might be more family-oriented in terms of pricing, but I don't know that for a fact. You may want to try them before you give up.

    • Just a tip, a lady I work with just got back from an Alaskan cruise, said she got a great deal by booking it through Costco (they have a travel agency or something). Might be worth checking out.
