Help answer this question below.

Can't seem to sign into Windows Live Messenger network, even with third part clients like Pidgin and Trillian Astra. Hotmail works fine, and outlook works fine with it. Any suggestions?

Your firewall or hosts file is blocking it ensure hotmail or msn is not in your restricted sites in your browser.
