How can a freezing point be lowered and a boiling point be raised?

    Freezing point and boiling point of what?I see most of the people say add salt or sugar to water.It would work in case of polar solutes and solvents.In case of non polar stuffs like organic oils,adding of salt or sugar would provide you no desired results.
