Does the amount of child support someone is to pay decrease as the children get older? If so, at what ages does it decrease?

    Child support stays the same unless a judge signs an order changing the amount. Sometimes the custodial parent will file for a modification, or change, in the child support as the children get older because their financial needs increase. Whether or not a judge would agree to a modification is another question entirely. Either parent can file for a modification of child support. You would need to see an attorney for help in doing this.

    • I agree with Hobster . But financialy things get more expensive as the kids get older . Sports , school fees , clothing , more food , car , gas , and so on .

    • the child support get increase evry 2 yrs...cuz kids get older the needs of the child increases...it happens to my ex
