What might a Reiki therapy session entail? If you have had one, can you describe it, and did it help you?

    Yes, the Reiki practitioner may touch you but not in the way a massage therapist does. They may place your hands on you, to direct energy from their energy field into yours. In a very basic way, I feel that just as a baby can be calmed when it is brought into proximity of the calm energy field of its mother, humans can be helped the same way. The practitioner is channeling energy of a higher frequency to help the patient whose energy is at a lower or disturbed frequency. It's a type of therapy or healing that addresses the erergetic field of the patient. Affecting the energy field can affect the well being on a physical level too. It's not the right therapy for all conditions, obviously not for a broken leg or something like that, but for certain things, it's great.
