In selecting wood flooring for the kitchen do you go one shade lighter then the cabinets or one shade darker?

I prefer a lot of contrast between cabinets and wood flooring. If it's just a shade it looks like a mistake. I like dark cherry cabinets and almost natural oak floors. But that's just me.
