First, why not read your rental/lease agreement and determine whether or not that question is addressed therein. If it is NOT, you should be able to do as you please, within the realm of "appropriateness." It would seem that any agreement would have to define "appropriate."

if a home is condemded in ohio because of neglect by the landlord, is he responsible for finding tenant a place to go til its up to code?

If you owe rent, and you TRY to pay and the landlord doesnt refuses it until you sign a month-to-month lease(ALREADY have a years lease)
